Capability at Bendalls

It is our capability which has created our reputation in the world of engineering.

At Bendalls this is defined by a unique combination of factors; design, dedicated workforce, experience, systems, facilities and equipment.

'Experience' is a key word at Bendalls - 100 years has it's own story to tell. Established in 1894 as a family business, Bendalls has grown into a major supplier of specialised fabrication to the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Nuclear, Power, Process and Pharmaceutical markets worldwide.

Our in house inspection capability includes Radiography, Ultrasonics, MPI and DPI with operators qualified to PCN / SNT Level II. We can also carry out Hydrostatic Testing (700 bar), UT Thickness Measurement, Hardness Testing, Surface Roughness Gauging and 'tight spot' evaluation using Endoscope Instruments.

Welders and procedures are AOTC / Lloyds approved to ASME IX and EN 15614 / 287 and BNG approved to NF 0081/6. Welding process include SAW, SMAW, FCAW, TIG, MIG and MAG in materials such as Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Monel, Duplex, Hastelloy and Incoloys.

ESSL - Electro Slag Strip Cladding and facility with dedicated Column, Boom and Manipulator Facility for weld overlay of vessel heads and bodies. Cladding provides protection against wear & corrosion on vessel internal surfaces operating in aggressive environments.

With almost 5,000m2 of covered manufacturing area, 1000m2 of office accommodation and 2,000m2 of uncovered storage, Bendalls are well equipped to handle large fabrications of up to 50 metres long, 100mm of plate thickness, 5 metres in diameter and up to 100 tonnes in weight.

Our High Bay includes a 70 tonne overhead lift capacity with 10.5 metres to the hook height of each crane.

Equipment includes; manual, semi automatic, column and boom welding plant coupled with plasma arc / oxy programmable profiling systems, manipulators, rotators, overhead and mobile cranes.

Machinery includes; folding, punching, nibbling, swaging, rolling, pressing, turning, milling and drilling, pipe bending.
